    Based within the InnovationSpace at Virginia Tech I investigated new technologies and supported specific campus technologies. When not assisting instructors I researched emerging technologies and evaluated their use as a teaching and learning tool. This position also included training in technology, documentation, and delivering Virginia Tech assets in a way that would benefit the VT community as a whole. I also participated in several projects in conjunction with other departments on campus advising on technologies that might accomplish specific goals, development lifecycles for mobile applications, and available campus resources. I was an administrator for VT's Apple Developer account and managed a large pool of iPads that could be loaned for research or classroom use. One of my final projects at VT was assisting with the remodel of the InnovationSpace lab and office area. This position was originated for me once my previous temporary role at VT had ended as planned.

    I was hired to assist in sunsetting a longstanding department. During my time with this department I helped evaluate a distributed system model to replace a centralized test scanning and evaluation department. I assisted instructors with testing needs including analysis of results and evaluation of overall test questions for effectiveness based on student score metrics. As part of sunsetting the old system and launching the new I helped develop a campus-wide communication plan and training plan for the new system. This included timelining based on user need and usage as well as training workshops VT faculty adopting the new system.

    In this position at a four-start hotel I maintained the quality of shift to shift operations and applied proper judgment and problem-solving skills to guest service issues and unexpected situations. I was a member of the Manager-on-Duty Program which reviewed all operations and procedures of the business and, when designated, was the main point contact for all escalated and safety issues at the Inn. I coached employees in company expectations and reaching weekly and monthly upsell goals. I also held an assignment with sales/conference services staff which involved managing room inventory and assisting in revenue management, room occupancy statistics, and analysis of ADR (Average Daily Rate) to maximize occupancy & revenue. I developed training materials, mentored staff for professional development, encouraged ongoing development of skills and estate specific knowledge. I also played a key role in implementing a service model to increase hotel efficiency when assisting guests.
